Kuwait Accident
The Morning of May 19th 2000, started off like any other. I'd started my early morning commute to work. Half way there two speeding sports cars passed me at a very high rate of speed, I'd set my cruise 5 miles over the limit and these cars still passed me as if I were staying still all while weaving around me and each other. I'd thought to myself they were going to get themselves killed.
A few more miles down the road they were already out of my mind when I came upon one of the cars a Nissan 300zx in an awkward position in the middle of the road, it was then that I realzed I had missed the other car which was on its roof in a ditch. I immediately called 911 then got out to see if there was anything I could do. Everyone in the Nissan was ok, just very histerical. I then ran to one of the one of the victims of the other car who had been ejected, I could not find a pulse and he was not breathing I attempted CPR but to avail the boy was dead, I'd later learned he had broke his neck.
In the rolled over car was his girlfriend who had been wearing her seat belt. She had a few minor injuries, lots of cuts and bruises but she was ok. It took nearly 10 minutes for police and an ambulance to arrive, it felt like hours. I later learned that all the passangers in both cars were or under 17yr olds. They were all friends, and after a night of fun the drivers of both cars decided to put there machines to the test and started to race each other home when the cars clipped each other causing the 3000GT to lose control roll over a number of times untill finally coming to a rest upside down in a ditch.
The decision to go home in this way turned out to be a deadly decision for one of the boys, and a memory that will be with the rest of them and mine for the rest of our lives. Before parents buy there kids these cars, they should be able to trust that they won't go out and do this sort of stuff, but of course if you buy your kid a sports car what else do you expect? Driving wrecklessly and fast is just stupid and often times has deadly consiquences. Before you go out and drive like that THINK! not only for your own lives but for everyone out there on the road. AND ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!

Accidents Will Happen
By the law of averages you are more likely to be killed by a flying champagne cork than by a poisonous spider.

In the USA, in 1998, 48 people lost their lives due to rollercoaster accidents!

There is a town in Maryland called Accident. It sits on a major state highway linking western Maryland with the rest of the state. On the approach to the town is a road sign that doubles as a warning and is always true, no matter what the traffic condition. The sign says: ACCIDENT AHEAD

You have a higher chance of being killed by a donkey than dying in a plane crash.

In the USA an average of 55,700 people are injured by their own jewellery every year.

The first person to be killed in an auto accident in the United States was Henry H. Bliss, a 68-year-old real estate broker. On September 14, 1899, in New York City, Mr. Bliss stepped from a streetcar, turned to assist a woman passenger, and was hit by a cab.

The first fatal plane accident occurred on September 17, 1908 - - the pilot in that crash was none other than Orville Wright. In mid-flight, the propeller broke and the plane plunged 150 feet. Orville suffered multiple hip and leg fractures but Lieutenant Thomas E. Selfridge of the U.S. Signal Corps., who was also on board, died.

La Paz, Bolivia, which is about 12,000 feet above sea level, is nearly a fireproof city, and the fire engine ordered out of civic pride gather dust in their firehouses. At that altitude, the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere barely supports fire.

The plane was landing at Irkutsk International Airport in rain and low visibility when it veered off and overran the runway, struck a building and burst into flames. It was reported the plane was traveling at a high rate of speed when it landed. The braking system may have failed.

10th most expensive Accident
The sinking of the Titanic is possibly the most famous accident in the world. But it barely makes our list of top 10 most expensive. On April 15, 1912, the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage and was considered to be the most luxurious ocean liner ever built. Over 1,500 people lost their lives when the ship ran into an iceberg and sunk in frigid waters. The ship cost $7 million to build ($150 million in today's dollars).

Washington Accident
Hey, this Head on collision in Washington happended on the Pacific Highway South. The two cars, one is a BMW 5 SERIES and the truck might be a blazer --- hit head on and and blocked the southbound lanes of the highway. Each car had only the driver, one was relatively OK, but the the SUV driver was hurt bad as his truck had no airbags. The motor in the foreground is the Jaws of Life power source. Brad.
